La Vista verso Bellagio dal Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Lago di Como by Andrea Ferolla
I came across the beautiful illustrations of Andrea Ferolla on her instagram account. I love her linework and beautiful application of color - very romantic and charming.

CANNONSBURIEDINFLOWERS
I recently saw the Anthony Sonnenberg show at Gavlak in DTLA, and I feel slightly weird for saying I can’t get these candy colored grotesquely ornate, ruffled candelabras out of my mind. Are they so out of character, they’re in character? No matter, I’m obsessed.

I remember how revelatory it felt to read Inès de La Fressange’s book Parisian Chic: A Style Guide- it was the first “style guide” I picked up that really resonated. It was less about fashion with a capital F and more about personal style - how understanding yourself and your needs are the real tools to develop it. This kind of personal-fashion-as-self-actualization is having a moment in the style guide genre. I’ve spent hours watching Tibi’s “Style Class” videos wherein the clever Amy Smilovic and her various creative stuff intellectualize their approach to fashion and it’s fascinating. And now Alison Bornstein, a favorite stylist (who has a great Instagram and Tiktok), has released her very own guide. Can’t wait to dig in; link to pre-order

ADDTOCART
I finally received the eagerly anticipated news that the perfume sample I’ve been rationing (Body Paint by VIlhelm Parfumerie) is finally back in stock, meaning it’s now on its way to me. The “maddening collision of ice cold pear juice and chili” elicits compliments from my most discerning friends.

Paid my last visit to the Botanical Gardens at The Huntington - a place I will deeply miss once we leave Los Angeles. Winter and spring was unusually rainy here inciting a “super bloom” - and the roses we saw this past week were no exception. Hundreds of extraordinary blooms. Go if you can (and bring your camera!)

SLEEPYSATURDAY
Akin to an adult version of Saturday morning cartoons, I cooked diner breakfast at home and watched Casablanca. It can be hard finding time to really soak in a movie at home, especially the long ones, and this was the perfect way to.
