Daniela Rutigliano Co-Founder, Principal Designer

Daniela’s aesthetic sensitivity started to develop from a young age, as she spent every summer traveling throughout Italy with her family, effectively learning from the masters. This inclination toward beauty and history made the study of art history a natural fit and she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Art History at Syracuse University. After completing graduate level work studying European modern painting at American University, and working in museums and galleries, she felt a pull away from theory and academia and toward the creative practice itself.

With a strong foundation in liberal arts and a traveled eye, she developed a confident, decisive attitude toward aesthetics. Coupled with her interest in human story and experience, she found interior design was her métier. She studied interior decoration at Sheridan College in Canada, worked in the industry for many years, and then furthered her design education by obtaining a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design at the New York School of Interior Design. She has graduated with Honors, won a Nantucket by Design competition and was the recipient of the Robert Herring Travel Prize, which she used to travel through the Nordic countries of Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark, studying their interiors, furniture, architecture, urban planning and even landscape design to inform her design voice and further her erudition.

Daniela has assiduously composed a diversified professional experience, working in high-end residential interior design firms as well as an architecture firm, and in various markets including the Greater Toronto Area, New York, New Jersey and most recently, Los Angeles, where she also worked on a boutique hospitality project.

Daniela is always excited by the alchemy of collaborating with clients to design interiors. She values thoughtful space planning, well-researched sourcing of furniture, finishes and fixtures, sophisticated color palettes, and an acute consideration of how light and air move through a space. Committed to this rigour and excellence, she creates interiors that are authentic to client’s lives, but also their aspirations, by elevating their everyday with beauty and poetry.
